The tool is available in the CE RCP tab and performs Signal Strength calculations. It does not require creating a Cell object and can generate coverage predictions based on GUI inputs, such as coordinates, antenna specifications, power, height, etc.
Additionally, the tool can be used for what-if scenarios to evaluate potential coverage by adjusting parameters for the Cell object. This allows you to test different configurations without altering the parameters in the database.
1. Initiate Predictions without Cell object
Open the Quick Prediction tool (Workspace is required; if you don't have one, please refer to the Create Workspace topic). To define the coordinates, either click with the left mouse button or enter the coordinates in the dialog box.
Fill parameters manually, or take a template to fill these automatically.
Then define:
- Signal strength results resolution (cell size) in meters (sub-meter resolution is also supported, in this case define centimeter value, for example, 0.15):
- Transmitter height above terrain in meters:
- Azimuth:
Press Run to start calculations, and it will be added on the map automatically.
2. Initiate Predictions from Cell object
Zoom to required Cell locations.
Open Quick Prediction tool, and click on the required Cell.
Selected Cell option will be filled, and all parameters from Cell will be taken and filled to Quick Prediction tool.
Press Run calculations to preview existing coverage for selected Cell object.
To check What-If scenario, if Cell would have another paramater, change it directly in Quick Prediction tool and Run predictions.
